NewsThe Manatee Observation & Education Center is a fun-filled, family-friendly, environmentally based education center that celebrates Florida’s incomparable natural resources and wildlife! Our goal is Education! How do we accomplish it? By offering many unique experiences through a variety of programs including touch tank demonstrations, fascinating programs, summer camps, monthly lecture series, workshops, special events, and so much more! This is the first presentation of the new website for the Manatee Center! We want to give a big thank you to Bill & Julie Noddin for volunteering their exceptional skills that made this site possible. Looking for something new and exciting this summer for your child? The Manatee Center offers an unique summer camp experience not to be missed! Each week is a new type of nature exploration! Get wet! Touch a sea star! Take a wildlife boat ride! Visit a real life working ranch! Hit the beach! Create works of art! And that is just the beginning!All camps are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Morning and afternoon snacks are included. Camps can fill quickly and are registered on a first serve basis. NEW THIS SUMMER! Our Captain Planet funded Manatee & Mangrove Workshops are FREE two day workshops geared towards those students in St. Lucie county that might not otherwise have the opportunity to go to a camp program. We are offering four sessions for different age groups. If your child is looking to make new friends, learn about our local wildlife, and have a great time, then this is the place to be! Join the Manateam!Looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Come share your passion for manatees at the Manatee Center! We have several exciting volunteer positions available. If you love manatees, you'll love being a Roving Naturalist! They spend their time observing manatees in Moore's Creek and sharing their manatee knowledge with visitors from around the world! Do you love to shop? Our Vanishing Mermaid Gift Shop Assistants help customers find that perfect treasure for their loved ones. Are you adventurous? Our Discovery Guides interact with visitors using our hands-on exhibits like our touch tank and various reptiles. If you have ever wanted to hold a bearded dragon, this is the job for you! Do you have the gift of gab? Our Greeters welcome our guests to the Manatee Center and keep them informed about all of our special events. The rewards are endless!
